Stewards of the Garden

I recently read over the Online Conference of 2010, and I was struck most by one specific analogy posed by Wesley Fryer. His analogy was incorporated in summing up a key point of the conference: That we, as educators, could be utilizing and cultivating this "internet garden" rather than passively sticking to older methods of education. We are pioneers that can now move into a fertile landscape, establish land markers and leave a mark on the rest of this online territory.
It is a great opportunity to work the ecosystem; we should not pass by. We should land, plant and grow.
We should make ourselves cultivators.

  1. I follow the writings and work of Wesley Fryer because he shares good, creative ideas about teaching and learning. His approach to education has influenced mine and is reflected in portions of our course.
